Destination Weddings

DESTINATION WEDDINGS

Touro Synagogue – one of the oldest synagogues in North America – is a home for living progressive Judaism in the heart of New Orleans. If you aren’t a member of Touro Synagogue, but carry a piece of New Orleans in your heart from a long distance, we are happy to work with you to craft a beautiful destination wedding ceremony. Our community welcomes and embraces both same and opposite sex couples as well as those with varied religious backgrounds. We would be honored to be a part of your wedding.

Destination weddings are officiated by Rabbi Todd Silverman and involve consultation about the wedding ceremony and limited pre-marital counseling over the phone. We highly encourage wedding couples to engage in further pre-marital counseling with a clergy person or counseling professional in the communities in which they live. The officiation fee for a non-member destination wedding provided by Touro Synagogue clergy is $2,500.

While some couples choose to have their celebration at any number of beautiful wedding venues that the city of New Orleans has to offer, we are happy to open the doors of our synagogue for your ceremony. If you’re interested in use of our facilities for your wedding, please contact Annahi Tapia, our Director of Congregational Life and Facilities at [email protected] for information about facilities fees and availability.

To begin a conversation about having your wedding in New Orleans with the clergy from Touro Synagogue, we invite you to be in touch with Rabbi Silverman at [email protected].
