Confirmation Reflection Project Submissions

Touro Synagogue Confirmation Class of 2026
My Jewish Era, My Jewish Self

As the culmination of our class journey, each student has the opportunity to create a reflection project and share it with the congregation during our Confirmation Ceremony on May 8. This reflection project is intended to encourage you to think about the discussions we’ve had this year, your own experiences as a young Jewish adult, and how these Jewish moments inform your commitment to your own Jewish practice and to the Jewish People.

Linked here are three texts related to big Jewish questions that our class explored over the last several months. I’m asking you to select the one that most speaks to you and respond to it, either in written form, between 700 and 1200 words, or in creative form, through music, poetry, visual arts, video, etc. (If you choose to submit a creative piece, please also write a short paragraph of introduction and explanation, and give it a name!) Your reflection will be represented in a 2026 Confirmation Booklet, and you may choose to share some of it from the bimah during the Confirmation Service on May 8th.

Please submit it to Rabbi Bauman by Sunday, April 26, 2026.

  1. Ask Rabbi Bauman ([email protected]) for support at any point along the way.
  2. Approach this as an opportunity for growth, not an assignment for school. DO NOT STRESS ABOUT THIS.
  3. Look through the questions and think about our conversations about them during our class this year and what great questions they bring up for you.  See that I have written a guiding question or two under each big question, just as suggestions. Read those questions as well.
  4. Select one question that excites, inspires or interests you, that you have a strong internal response to, or that you want to think more deeply about.
  5. Submit your reflection to Rabbi Bauman below no later than Sunday, April 26.
