Dear Congregants,
We joyfully invite you to Touro Synagogue’s 2026 Annual Meeting, the 198th in our long history.
Touro Synagogue continues to be a thriving and growing community and we are excited to update you on the current state of the organization. Our meeting will include rituals of transition between outgoing and incoming members of our Board of Trustees, an overview of our updated Strategic Plan, a financial report from our Treasurer, and messages from myself and clergy. We have an exciting agenda! During the meeting, we will also have fun activities for children and childcare available. Afterwards, all are invited to enjoy delicious refreshments together.
The Nominating Committee for the Board of Trustees has made recommendations to fill vacant seats for the 2026-2028 term. The nominating report is linked here.
Additionally, both Touro Synagogue and the Touro Synagogue Foundation have drafted by-law updates, linked below:
Touro Synagogue Foundation Draft By-Laws
A two-thirds vote of Congregational Members in Good Standing present for the Annual Meeting of the congregation is required for the Board elections to take place. The quorum for a Congregational meeting shall be fifty (50) Congregational Members in Good Standing.
I very much hope you will plan to join us, and look forward to being with you. Please be sure to RSVP. It will be a pleasure to report and reflect on this past year, hold our Board elections, and look ahead with excitement to the chapter to come in our synagogue life.
With warm regards,
Kevin Wilkins, President
