Kerry Tapia, her husband Ben Beasley and their daughter Emilia, made New Orleans their home in March 2012. Kerry comes to Touro with experience from two previous synagogues in Houston and Tennessee. It was at Congregation Micah in Tennessee that Rabbi Berk worked with Kerry, and experienced first-hand the competence, efficiency, creativity, and warmth that characterizes Kerry’s management style. So it was that when the position of Executive Director became open, Rabbi Berk immediately placed a call to Kerry. Luckily for Touro, Kerry was ready for a change and a new challenge, as was her husband, Ben who, after running his own successful contracting company for many years, now attends UNO and is pursueing a degree in Environmental Science.

Ben and Kerry, and their daughters, Emilia and Anina, are an integral part of the Touro family, and enjoy all of the New Orleans, and specifically Touro Synagogue, traditions. To contact Kerry, e-mail
