Eden House

Human trafficking and slavery are not just issues of the past, human sex trafficking affects hundreds of girls and women every year.  New Orleans is widely recognized by global predators and law enforcement as a Mecca for sex trafficking and sex tourism.  Eden House is a residential home here in New Orleans for women who have escaped from human trafficking, violence, and prostitution. Here is how you can help: Touro provides welcome baskets for each woman when she moves into Eden House, generally empty handed, often from jail or straight from the streets. The basket is filled with personal care items and towels to help them start their new lives feeling care from our synagogue community.  Donations of a full basket, or of items to be included in the basket, are needed continuously. Also needed are over the counter medications including Tylenol, Advil, and Mucinex.  All donations can be brought to the Touro office and labeled for Eden House. It is very easy to help!
